These courses are interdisciplinary in nature, consisting of a mixture of techniques from practices in art history, science and forensics. You will gain technical knowledge in examinations, cleaning, structural repairs and stabilisation of artwork. You will also critically engage with conservation theory, applying methodologies for preventative conservation in your analysis of various art pieces.
You may wish to work as an independent practitioner for a particular region, or work in-house for organisations such as museums, art galleries and large, private estates.
