Secondary Teacher Training Information Session


Could you inspire the next generation? Find out more about becoming a Secondary teacher with UEA…

The session will start with a General Information Talk, then there will be the opportunity for you to speak directly to subject tutors, current students and newly qualified teachers. Members of the admissions team will also be available to offer advice on all admissions related questions, including: degree subject requirements; GCSE and A level grade requirements; how to gain school experience; the professional skills tests; and fees, funding and bursary information.

Opening Evening at School of Simulation and Visualisation


Open Evening at the School of Simulation and Visualisation, Tuesday 21 February 2017, from 1730 to 1930hrs

An opportunity to visit the School of Simulation and Visualisation at their premises on Pacific Quay, Glasgow and chat with the lecturers involved with our Masters programmes:

MSc in Medical Visualisation and Human Anatomy
M.Des in Sound for the Moving Image
MSc in Visualisation (International Heritage)
MSc in Visualisation (Serious Games)

Academic Staff will be available from 1730hrs to 1930hrs that evening to meet with students interested in these programmes. Additionally we will include a short demonstration of our 3D capability in our purpose-built laboratory.

LCC Postgraduate Open Evening

Movement: Directing and Teaching, MA/MFA is a pioneering programme for those who wish to teach and direct movement. It is designed for those with skills from a range of physical disciplines (e.g. sports, yoga, dance, physical theatre) and who want to pursue careers as:

Postgraduate Opportunities in Modern Languages and Sexuality and Gender Studies


If you can’t make it to one of our on-campus open days, our virtual open days run regularly throughout the year!

Dr Berny Sèbe (Senior Lecturer in colonial and post-colonial studies), Dr Sofia Malamatidou (Lecturer in Translation Studies), Professor Lisa Downing (Professor of French Discourses of Sexuality and Programme Lead for the MRes in Sexuality and Gender Studies), Dr Paolo De Ventura (Lecturer in Italian literature) Jon Cheek and Roxanne McLean are available between 12:00-13:00 for the Live Q&A.

A number of our postgraduate mentors who are current students or have studied at the Department of Modern Languages will also be online, and you are welcome to ask them any questions you have about what it’s like to study at the School.

About the Department of Modern Languages:

We offer an exceptionally broad range of postgraduate programmes. The Department of Modern Languages offers a range of Masters and Doctoral programmes which allow you to focus on work in one or more languages. You can study languages, together with the cultures associated with them, in a variety of programme combinations.

Our interests range from the contemporary to the medieval, and from Western Europe to the Caribbean, Africa, and China. We have ground-breaking research in film, sexuality and gender, memory and exile, genre, postcolonial studies and text production.
