As well as being one of the largest cities in the West Midlands region, Coventry is also one of the oldest cities in England, with a rich history as an administrative centre during the Middle Ages.

The oldest university in Coventry is the University of Warwick, founded in 1965 and consistently ranked as one of the UK’s top ten universities (as well as being a member of the UK’s elite Russell Group).
The city’s other major university is Coventry University, which incorporates the historic Coventry School of Art and Design and offers courses in automotive design that draw upon the city’s proud legacy in this industry.
Careers in Coventry
Coventry offers good opportunities for postgraduates wishing to work in the car industry, with Jaguar Land Rover headquartered in the city. Peugeot and BMW also have a presence in Coventry and the surrounding area, along with IBM and E.ON.
