Masters Degrees in Soil Science
We have 36 Masters Degrees in Soil Science
Masters degrees in Soil Science offer advanced study of the properties of soils, the processes involved in their formation, and their distribution. Taught MSc degrees are typical for the field, though research-based MRes and MPhil programmes may be available at some institutions. Entry requirements normally include an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject such as Environmental Science or Geology.
Why study a Masters in Soil Science?
## Courses in this field are often interdisciplinary in approach, combining theory and methodology from disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, Planning and Law. You may investigate a range of processes and issues associated with land use, such as soil pollution, environmental sustainability and regulations for changing environments. This may also include investigation of the production of organic matter, and analysis of microbial ecology. An understanding of soil is essential across a range of sectors. From food security and production in agricultural practise, to urban planning and landscape design, we are better equipped to manage the growing needs of the population through research in this field. Careers may include roles in the use of land such as farming and planning, or environmental impact assessment, legislation and consultancy across different sectors.MSc(Agr) Environmental Resource Management
