In selected international master's programmes, the University of Tartu offers tuition fee reductions of 25%, 50% or 100% for one semester at a time.
The number of tuition fee reductions and whether they are granted from the first or the second semester depend on the master's programme. Detailed information is available on the master's programme’s website.
If the tuition fee reduction is granted from the first semester, the reductions are awarded to the highest-ranked applicants based on their admission scores. Starting in the second semester, reductions are awarded based on the weighted average grade for all results from the previous semester.
All students admitted in 2026 will be eligible to be considered for a tuition fee reduction based on their academic performance and the following criteria:
- they study full-time;
- are not on academic leave;
- have not exceeded the nominal duration of the curriculum;
- have cumulatively completed at least 30 ECTS credits per semester.
There is no separate application. Students must apply to an international bachelor’s or master’s programme that offers the tuition fee reduction and be admitted.
