The School of Mathematics warmly welcomes applications for postgraduate study. We take pride in the calibre of our staff, in the breadth of our postgraduate programmes, and in the successes of our postgraduates as they develop their careers within a stimulating and supportive academic environment. The School comprises four departments: Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Financial Mathematics. Together they form one of the largest research school of mathematicians in the UK, with over 140 staff and 1,400 students from over 60 countries studying with us. The Mathematics building lies at the centre of one of the UK's major university campuses, where we work together in developing the healthy, interactive research atmosphere which feeds and influences our undergraduate and MSc teaching programmes.
