Haifa’s population of approximately 32,000 students attend one of the two universities in the city.

The University of Haifa was established in 1963, at the top of Mount Carmel, overlooking the city. The University of Haifa boasts number of English-taught courses for its over 1,000 overseas students.

The history of Technion, Israel’s Institute of Technology, dates as far back as 1912. A global research university, it offers various programmes for international students.

Although Hebrew is Israel’s official language, English is widely spoken among the population, making it easy to be integrated into the community.
