Studying Business Analytics opened so many new horizons for me. When I began the course, I had no prior knowledge of coding, but the University offered numerous free workshops to learn programming languages.

For anyone considering MSc Marketing at the University of Exeter, I can't recommend it enough. The opportunities and experiences here are exceptional, truly enhancing both personal and professional growth.

I was attracted to the flexibility of this course; I work as a Healthcare Assistant & for the COVID-19 immunisations program. I love that Exeter’s course allows me to work alongside study. I really like the course, everything varied & we choose quite a few modules. You get the breadth of genomics but also go into depth with each module to really develop your area of interest.

When I first chose to study MSc Advanced Computer Science at the University of Exeter, I couldn’t fully anticipate what my experience would be like. However, after arriving, I quickly realised that Exeter offered the perfect environment for me to focus on my studies and research. The natural surroundings are beautiful—especially in spring, when the flowers bloom—and the weather is much milder compared to the cold places where I lived during the first 20 years of my life (Canada and Northeast China). What struck me even more was the peaceful cultural environment. People here are nice and friendly, which is ideal for someone like me who values tranquility.

The course itself had a strong emphasis on data processing and machine learning, which aligned well with my interests. The course structure wasn’t overly intense, which allowed me to spend a considerable amount of time working on my own projects, which is where my true passion lies.

I lived in Lafrowda residence in a studio room. It was the perfect place for me—quiet, private, and just a short walk from the lecture buildings, which meant I could maximise my efficiency. On campus, I spent a lot of time at the Forum, either meeting, chatting, or studying with friends in the open areas or bookable study rooms. Off campus, I enjoyed visiting the city centre for food, as well as exploring the scenic spots like the hill to the north and the riverside to the south of Exeter.

I felt that the university community was incredibly supportive. The staff are always helpful, and my friends were a great source of support whenever I encountered difficulties.

Exeter is a peaceful, focused, and supportive place to pursue your academic goals. And for those with different interests, I believe most students will find a lifestyle here that suits them.

This course has played a crucial role in shaping my career path. Before coming to Exeter, I never expected to pursue a professional career in psychology. However, the knowledge, exposure, and confidence I gained here opened new possibilities.

The course's teaching was exceptional. The faculty had impressive academic credentials and a deep understanding of the real-world experiences that students like me face. This combination of theoretical expertise and practical insights made every lesson informative and directly applicable to the challenges we face in our professional lives.

I have made many new friends in the Marketing course from all backgrounds and occupations [and] have learned about how marketing organisations operate in Malaysia, Singapore, India, China, and Germany.

The lecturers are really encouraging and open to questions. The classes are specifically tailored to the students' needs, and I can always rewatch lecture recordings at my own pace.

It was such an honour for me to receive the Global Excellence award from Exeter. I felt like I had something to contribute to the university as a student, not only on an educational level, but on a professional level too.
