Roxanne

Hello! I’m Jiawei (Roxanne) Cen, a graduate student in the Art Therapy M.A. program at GW. I’m originally from Beijing, China, and have studied in the U.S. for seven years.

My experience working with children inspired my passion for human development and the healing power of art. I chose GW because the hands-on training in the Art Therapy program is essential to building a meaningful career. As one of the earliest programs in the country, GW offers incredible resources and professional opportunities in this field.

It’s my first time living in the DMV area, and I’ve loved exploring campus events, D.C.’s museums, and experimenting with new art materials. As an international student, I’ve felt welcomed into the GW community—and I’m excited to give back by helping future students find their place here, too.

Kylie Blackwell

Hi! I’m Kylie Blackwell, a graduate student in the Forensic Molecular Biology M.F.S. program at GW. I’m originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, but after five years in D.C., I proudly call it home.

I earned my B.S. in Biology and Biological Anthropology at GW, and my favorite moment was graduating on the National Mall in front of the Washington Monument! I chose GW for graduate school because it’s home to one of the oldest and most respected forensic science programs in the country. The faculty’s strong connections with law enforcement and research institutions give students incredible hands-on experience.

As a Graduate Student Ambassador, I hope to share my passion for GW and get prospective students as excited as I am about our program—and all the amazing things to do in D.C.!

Megan Rink

Hi! I’m Megan Rink, a Master’s student in the Museums, History, and Culture program at The George Washington University.

I chose GW for its unparalleled connections to Washington, D.C.’s museums and cultural institutions, which offer incredible opportunities for hands-on learning and professional growth. Being part of the inaugural cohort has been so special—our small, close-knit community has not only supported one another but also helped shape the future of the program.

Having grown up visiting family in D.C., it felt natural to make the move and become part of the city’s vibrant museum landscape. My studies focus on museum collections and aerospace history, and I’ve gained hands-on experience through internships at the International Spy Museum and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. I’m passionate about how objects and collections bring history to life and spark curiosity and discovery!
