About the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences

Our faculty has a distinguished history of research, counting Nobel Laureates among our former staff and students. Today, we boast a wide and ever-expanding range of research expertise in science, technology, and engineering, from the very small to the infinite. Our innovative, interdisciplinary collaborations through research centres in Net Zero, the Physical Science of Life and King’s Quantum help advance solutions to complex societal and environmental challenges. From nanophotonics to cosmology, mechatronics to wireless communication, cell biology to theoretical physics, we are working at all levels to understand our world and change it for the better.

What students can expect from this course is a blend of technical knowledge in electronic engineering, coupled with essential management skills that are required in the real world. I would describe the course as innovative, interdisciplinary and empowering.

I wanted to learn how to apply mathematics to some of the characteristic problems of the 21st century, and the course didn't disappoint.

I would recommend this course to anyone that likes the beauty of maths and enjoys studying and going deeper into it. Everyone is really nice and there to help you.

Studying Robotics at King's is about the facilities they have, and the research professors, they are all at the forefront of their field.

King’s is very well ranked and has an excellent Informatics department. The central location means you are close to big tech companies and you can interact with them, also thanks to the different events that King’s organises with them.

The reason why I decided to study this course is because I want to make a career transition to become a Software
Engineer. I find the faculty so easy to approach, they are always there if you want any support in your course, and also if you want to do further research.

Since there are a lot of different modules in this particular course, you are not bound to just be in Software because you can work with for example, AI or Big Data, opening a lot of avenues in the field of Computer Science.

King’s is a great platform to learn about trading or coding tools too. King’s also organises career fairs, so I always go along to learn about companies, network and apply for internships and jobs.

One of the great things about the Physics MSc is the huge amount of choice in modules: you get to choose nearly all your modules and topics, so you can curate a degree that focusses in on any area you want.

The programme gives us a very diverse skillset that helps a lot in the current finance world. The professors are super knowledgeable and encourage you to dig deeper into every subject.

The MSc Urban Informatics at King’s College London has helped me launch my career in the UK. The course covered advanced Data Science tools & techniques but just as quickly provided real opportunities to use them, working with real-world data in projects and research.

King's was my first priority when picking universities. The campuses are also really great and the course has been challenging yet fun!

I chose to study at King’s as I was drawn to the rapport between staff and students in the Chemistry department.

The course is perfect for anyone who wants to develop a solid foundation in Statistics.
