Taught MA, MFA and MSc degrees are typical for the field, the latter focussing mainly on computerised animations. Entry requirements normally include an appropriate undergraduate degree such as Graphic Design.
Why study a Masters in Animation?
## Courses in this field are often interdisciplinary, incorporating techniques in graphic design and illustration such as 2D methods including drawing, sketching and painting, as well as 3D practices like digital modelling You will learn techniques in traditional animation such as stop-motion animation, alongside modern methods such as motion-capture and CGI (computer generated imagery). Utilisation of different generative platforms is key, creating animations such as GIFs and Flash animation. Consideration is also given to the historical and sociocultural development of Animation, particularly in the transition from analogue media to digital media outlets. You will learn to develop Animation for a range of audiences and industries, often through an industry placement. Traditional careers include the production of animation for film and TV.
