Are you interested in writing for a professional website? Do you have a unique perspective on postgraduate study that you’d like to share with a wide audience?
We’re looking for prospective, current and former Masters students to write for our blog!
Keep reading to find out who we’re looking for and what’s in it for you.
Since 2016, our blog has offered information, advice, inspiration and news updates to those considering or studying a Masters degree.
We’re keen to bring in a wide range of perspectives from students with first-hand experience, to give our readers an inside look into what postgraduate study is really like – which is where you come in!
You could be thinking about doing a Masters and interested in sharing what it’s like to find and apply for courses. Or you could be a current or former student, ready to provide insights into the postgraduate experience.
We want the experience of blogging for us to be fun, flexible and rewarding.
Posts don't have to be long (we tend to publish pieces at around 700-1,000 words), and you don't need to be an established blogger or an experienced writer. Our editors will offer feedback and advice to get the best out of your ideas and help make your blogs something to be proud of.
There are also no ongoing commitments or deadlines. We’re always interested in hearing more from our bloggers, but we know that postgraduate study is demanding. Some of our writers give us a blog every now and then, some once a month, it’s really up to you!
Writing for our website gives you the opportunity to get your work in front of a large and diverse online audience. FindAMasters receives over 100,000 monthly visitors, and our weekly newsletter goes out to approximately 120,000 subscribers. We also regularly feature blog posts on our social media channels.
Publishing on a professional website will be an excellent addition to your CV, whether you’re considering a career in content creation or not! Plus, if you have your own blog and are looking to build your readership, writing for FindAMasters is a great way to expand your network. We’re happy to link to (relevant) content at the bottom of blogs we publish to help you attract new readers!
We’re also keen to help you improve your writing. We’ll offer you the same detailed editorial feedback that we do our own content creators.
Here’s what some of our previous guest bloggers have said about working with us:
“Guest blogging was such a rewarding experience for me, especially during the writing of my dissertation. It really helped solidify my learning and development.”
– Gareth Bilton, MSc Psychology (Conversion), University of Chester
“Being a guest blogger has been rewarding as not only does it get your voice out there, but also helps in other publishing prospects. My previous post was shared among all university staff (thanks to my supervisor) and I had various staff sending their comments to me directly, which is so encouraging. On another note, during my application/thinking process (including today), I struggle to find posts or tips based around part-time study so I’d hope that my experience could help someone in making that decision.”
– Domi Benton, part-time PhD Law student, Cardiff University
“The blogs are a chance to share my experience with prospective students (all the things I wish I’d known!) as well as with current students to create a sense of community online. Sometimes in academia you can feel isolated, but the blog helps show you that you are never alone. Writing the blogs has also developed my written skills, confidence writing for a non-academic environment, and given me a chance to reflect on the PhD journey!”
– Holly Giles, PhD student in Food and Nutritional Sciences, University of Reading
