  Maka Mutamiri

Role: Content Creator

Studying journalism for both her Bachelors and Masters, Maka is no stranger to the student experience. She has lived through the application process, writing personal statements, research proposals, essays, and dissertations. She also knows what it's like to juggle work while studying.

After graduating, Maka became a guest speaker for MA Journalism students at the University of Derby, where she studied. This experience sparked a passion for sharing her journey and offering advice. She wants all students to make the most of their education and pursue their dreams. She's a firm believer in following what’s right for you and not rushing when the timing isn’t right.

Outside of sharing all things postgrad study through various forms of content, Maka channels her creativity in several ways. She sews in her spare time, often upcycling old clothes and turning them into something new. In addition to her creative pursuits, Maka enjoys dancing, drawing, and travelling. She is also passionate about giving back to her community, whether through church or other initiatives.
