Scholarship details
The USW Postgraduate Refugee Sanctuary Scheme will cover the full tuition fee costs for the Pre-sessional English Language Programme of 10 weeks or less duration for eligible applicants.
The USW Postgraduate Refugee Sanctuary Scheme will also cover the cost of an English Language Assessment test through the University's Centre for International English if required.
Applicants will be given guidance, where required, in the course application process by the University’s Enquiries and Admissions department.
Practical support will be available from the University’s Student Money Advice Team to assist applications for postgraduate Masters funding.
To qualify for this additional support, applicants must:
• Be assessed by the University’s Enquiries and Admissions team and Immigration & International Student Advice Team as a refugee or individual granted leave under specific schemes, including:
- Ukraine Schemes (Family Scheme, Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme, Ukraine Extension Scheme)
- Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP)
- Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ARCS)
- Leave outside Immigration Rules due to Ukraine conflict
- Humanitarian Protection following an Asylum Claim
• Be eligible to pay UK home fees and have the right to study in the UK.
• Be eligible for UK student support from the Student Loans Company for the duration of the Master’s course. (Note: Holding a previous Master’s qualification may affect eligibility —contact the University for advice.)
• Apply for and be accepted onto a taught Master’s degree at the University of South Wales.
• If required, successfully complete a Pre-sessional English Language Programme or the International Foundation Programme at the University before starting the Master’s course.
• Accept the University’s offer for both the chosen Master’s course and any required pre-sessional programme on a firm basis.
