University of Nottingham, Department of American and Canadian Studies Masters Degrees

We have 2 University of Nottingham, Department of American and Canadian Studies Masters Degrees

Studying American and Canadian Studies has never been more relevant.

From political protest, multiculturalism and global relations, to debating the removal of statues and monuments, these are all issues which make up our modern world.

Whether you’ve come to American and Canadian studies through an interest in current events - perhaps the US elections, or the Black Lives Matter movement - or because you’ve always been fascinated by North American culture, our courses offer the flexibility to explore.

Particular areas of staff expertise include 19th-century literary, print and visual cultures, contemporary fiction, labour history, American Foreign Policy, The Civil Rights Movement and the Southern US in historical, cinematic and literary contexts and American intellectual history.

Choose a taught masters or independent research via an MRes to further your existing knowledge or focus on a particular area, and expand your career options.

We also offer a range of work experience through placements and volunteering.
