The Princeton Review features RIT in the 2020 edition of its annual book "The Best 385 Colleges", giving RIT high marks for diversity and campus life in addition to having rigorous academics and helpful professors. US News & World Report ranks RIT among the top third “National Universities,” earning praise for its co-operative education program and its graduation rate for students from low-income families, as well as its business and engineering colleges, according to its 2020 edition of "Best Colleges." The latest Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education rankings place RIT 155th among all U.S. colleges and No. 38 for engagement—how immersed students are in the academic experience, a result of survey responses on the difficulty of classes and the students’ likelihood to recommend RIT to their peers, among other indicators—placing RIT in the top 10 percent in the nation.

Diverse Student Population

RIT attracts students from every U.S. state and more than 2,600 international students from more than 100 countries. More than 3,000 students of color have elected to study at RIT. The variety of backgrounds and perspectives helps prepare you to work with individuals from different cultures and countries in today’s global business society. Adding a social and educational dynamic not found at any other university are more than 1,200 deaf and hard-of-hearing students supported by RIT’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf.
