The module leads and lecturers were so knowledgeable and approachable; the passion for their subjects was obvious. The modules were very well structured with plenty of resources available which aided the embedding of knowledge and understanding.

I strongly recommend applying for this course if you are enthusiastic about undertaking an independent cancer research project. Completing this course opens up a wide range of career opportunities, whether you plan to pursue a PhD or wish to find a career in academia or industry.

There is a very personal feel to the Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) programme, with lots of interaction and support from faculty in all the modules. The other students are also very friendly and inclusive.

I worked in general cardiology screening football teams in São Paulo and in the Rio Olympic games as a volunteer doctor, and wanted to learn more about sports cardiology. Dr Papadakis and Professor Sharma were a huge influence in choosing St George's because they are experts in this area. It also helps to have the hospital here; we do the clinics and I have all the access to patients.

I learned laboratory skills, basic bioinformatics, genetic counselling, and ethical reasoning skills; all of which helped boost my profile in medical genetics and made me more confident in applying to PhD positions and to the STP in genomics by the NHS.

The Biomedical Science MRes has given me a solid foundation for my research career, providing me with the necessary skills and knowledge for scientific research. This has been an invaluable asset that has helped me to progress to a PhD programme funded by the MRC. I am looking to further my research in the field of mitochondrial diseases and transgenic mouse models, knowing that I can always refer back to the structural framework that was built during the MSc.

I work for an ambulance trust and in primary care as a senior paramedic, so advanced practice was a natural move for me. It can feel like a pretty intimidating step up at times, but the support we've had at St George's has been fantastic, and I've really enjoyed the course. The course design and content is genuinely engaging and relevant, and it's delivered by an expert and approachable faculty.

The MSc has been an incredible journey of transformation. Working closely with a diverse group of peers has not only enhanced my learning but also broadened my perspective on clinical practice across various professional contexts. For those looking to progress their careers in advanced clinical practice I couldn’t recommend this course more.

I love the depth of understanding the course provides for the curriculum, allowing me to explore the latest advancements in neurology and psychiatry. The hands-on practical opportunities provide an invaluable real-world experience that's preparing me for an impactful career in mental health.

If you have a passion for genomics, this course is for you. It is extremely flexible and suits people of all professions, from doctors to pharmacists to newly graduated students looking to further their education. The professors are amazing and very helpful, and the course is designed to make you as prepared as possible for whatever field you would like to specialise in.

I signed up to the MSc thinking I would learn a lot of clinical skills but soon realised that advanced practice is more than clinical skills - it's a new way to approach things. The lecturers are very approachable and empathetic to the work-life balance that the course demands. It has been challenging for me at times but the course material and seeing its direct application at work has kept me going. This course has made it possible for me to move into a new role where I am enjoying trying the new skills while growing the service.

My favourite part of the Genomic Medicine course was interacting with many different healthcare professionals from a variety of backgrounds such as GPs, nurses, and other allied healthcare workers. This resulted in an enriched learning experience, which in combination with the number of modules available within the course gave me a richer understanding of how genomics is being applied across the NHS.

As St George’s students’ study in a specialist university hospital, I felt that I could learn from not only textbook knowledge but also clinical practice. Every day, we can learn from experts who are currently working in the hospital. It can help us better understand how to deal with patients in a reality setting which prepares us better for future careers.

The course has been enlightening and has deepened my understanding from a clinical perspective. The lectures and support are exceptional, offering invaluable insights into the field of neuroscience. The clinical placement opportunity is particularly enriching, allowing us to apply classroom knowledge in real-life settings and connect with clinical professionals for a deeper understanding. I am truly grateful for this experience and eager to continue learning and developing in the field of neuroscience.

I enjoyed the opportunity to really develop my laboratory skills here with an amazing and supportive group. I was able to focus on what I enjoyed most, and working with an excellent supervisor has really helped me develop my skills and passion for virology.

This course has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the role of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) and honed my skills and knowledge to become a more well-rounded person which will aid me in the future, practicing as an ACP.
