YAFTA offers specialist training for people pursuing careers in film and television. Our Acting for Screen Diploma supports aspiring screen actors, while our Duty of Care Diploma is designed for mental health professionals who want to apply their expertise within television production. Entry requirements vary by course, so please contact us to discuss your background and ambitions.

You do not need to be established in television to benefit from YAFTA’s training. Our courses help students understand how the industry operates and what working within it involves. Relevant qualifications or experience may be required for particular programmes, especially the Duty of Care Diploma, which builds on an existing mental health professional background.

Our flexible blended learning options help students combine professional training with other responsibilities. Delivery arrangements and attendance requirements vary between programmes however most courses can be attended online and in the classroom. Teaching connects theory with practice through realistic scenarios, practical exercises and insights from working professionals. Students explore production pressures, professional relationships and the expectations of their chosen role.
