PUT YOUR LEARNING INTO PRACTICES
Bristol Law School has been successfully involved in legal education for over 40 years and provide high quality courses taught in a fully supportive learning environment.
The teaching in the School is organised within two divisions: the Department of Law and the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice. The Department of Law encompasses a wide range of undergraduate programmes as well as providing taught postgraduate courses for the awards of MA and LLM. The Bristol Institute of Legal Practice is responsible for postgraduate vocational courses such as the LPC, BVC and CPE (GradDip). It also runs a wide range of short courses and conferences for the legal professional and other bodies, including an extensive continuing education programme for solicitors and the Professional Skills Course run in conjunction with Bristol Law Society.
The School offers supervision for full or part-time studies leading to the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil), supported by specialist research training.

The Department of Architecture and the Built Environment is an innovative centre of academic excellence, with an established global reputation.. The department is one of the biggest departments of planning and architecture in the UK, situated in a large, well-resourced and multi-disciplinary faculty, which continues to grow to meet new challenges in education and research.
TEACHING AND LEARNING
Its unique and innovative approaches to teaching and learning bring together architecture, planning and transport in a wide range of courses for full time and part time students, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
ACCREDITED COURSES
All its courses are accredited by the relevant professional bodies, including the ARB, RIBA, RTPI and ILT, and graduates have an excellent record of obtaining employment when they finish, assisted by the extensive links with practice, including work placements which are integrated into the courses.
STRONG REPUTATION
We have a long-established reputation for enabling professional development in the disciplines covered within the Department. More specifically:
• We offer a range of short courses covering planning and architecture topics, related topics in spatial planning, construction, built environment law, air quality policies and practice and more.

LEARN FROM PRACTITIONERS
We hold regular meetings with practitioners of architecture, planning and transport where education and practice come together for a lively exchange of views about the relationship between the two.
DISTANCE LEARNING
We have a long experience of distance learning courses in planning. We run and manage the only distance learning course in the UK for students wanting to become qualified planners, known as the Joint Distance Learning MA in Town and Country Planning, which is operated in partnership with a number of other UK universities.

The Department of Computer Science and Creative Technologies combines the rigour of computer science with a deep understanding of the impact of digital technology and engagement with the challenges and opportunities it presents. Part of our work focuses on user-centred approaches to IT and technology - ensuring that technology meets the needs of those for whom it is intended.
OUR COURSES
Our postgraduate courses are flexibly structured and allow for both full-time and part-time study. This flexibility caters for those who wish to continue their professional development whilst remaining in full-time employment, as well as for those looking to further their qualifications on a full-time basis. Some modules may also be taken as short courses and our MSc Software Engineering is available entirely by distance learning.

OUR RESEARCH
We conduct world class research in unconventional computing, large scale distributed systems, data processing and management and embedded systems. Much of our research is conducted in collaboration with industry and academia, including CERN.
OUR STAFF
There are over 50 academic staff based in the Department in areas such computer science, forensic computing, information management, web design and development, digital media, computer security, music technology, games technology, experience design and software engineering.

The Department of Education is one of the West of England’s largest centres for teacher education, with nearly 1,000 students in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and more than 600 students taking part-time courses for professional development.
UWE Bristol has a reputation for leadership and innovation in teacher education. The School works closely with schools and colleges throughout the West of England, South Wales and beyond, to keep its courses at the leading edge of new developments.

The School of Health and Social Wellbeing brings together specialists in the areas of Diagnostic Imaging, Radiotherapy and Oncology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Sports Therapy.
The School has an excellent national and international reputation with students from all over the UK as well as overseas. We’re committed to educating students to meet the demands of their professions. Particular emphasis is placed on creating an environment which facilitates the development of effective therapists who are analytical and reflective; use evidence-based practice to guide their clinical reasoning; and who are able to meet the changing needs within health and social care today and in the future.
