Full body dissection was a real highlight of this programme, as were the dedicated staff and excellent facilities. Clinical Anatomy at Hull York Medical School is a unique course that allows you to gain so much in just a year.

I was able to work with Reckitt’s medical affairs team and gain an insight into how a pharmaceutical research project is approached from an industrial perspective. The breadth of content and information you are exposed to on this programme sets you up for absolute success within the pharmaceutical industry. I have gone into my role with a great foundation of expertise in all areas of pharmaceuticals, making me a knowledgeable employee who is ready for anything.

I work as a GP in the North East of England - I graduated from Hull York Medical School. I've always had this interest in Palliative Care alongside general practice, and I've retained that interest throughout.

In my experience clinically, it's a big part of the job and we certainly do a lot of community palliative care. That's where my heart lies, in that area of improving palliative care in the community.

I chose to study this course because I'm early in my GP career and want to develop that interest, but one of the big gaps I haven't been able to understand is how you get better palliative care in the settings. How do you actually implement it? So that's why this course really caught my eye.

I've also found the course very suitable for working full-time. Because it's remote studying, I've been able to work alongside and fit in my sessions. So for me, it was a perfect balance of being able to expand that knowledge and do a really interesting course, while actually fitting in full-time working as well. I've really enjoyed it.

The course contents has been very engaging and relevant to anyone working in a clinical position. It's a great way of opening up and thinking about things from a different perspective.

Learning by dissection was invaluable. Although difficult initially, it allowed me to put my Anatomy knowledge in a three-dimensional context. This is a quality that is transferable to all other aspects of an academic life. I also enjoyed working on my research project - I worked on an original piece of research in a field I am passionate about, with the support of the academic team from the University.
