We've been helping students find the right postgraduate course for over a decade.
Since we were founded in 1876, we’ve had a reputation for doing things a little differently. We were the first institute of higher education in the UK to admit women on an equal basis with men, and in 2019 we became the first UK university to declare a climate emergency. We’re proud of our tradition of academic excellence which we combine with an independent and forward-thinking spirit. We attract students and staff from all over the world, creating an exciting and diverse community.
Bristol is ranked within the top ten UK universities (QS World Rankings 2021) and we’re a member of the Russell Group of UK research-intensive universities. Our research is ranked in the top five in the UK (Times Higher Education analysis of REF 2014).
We offer taught and research postgraduate programmes in a wide range of subject areas across our six faculties: Arts, Engineering, Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Science, and Social Sciences and Law.
Postgraduate study can help you delve deeper into a subject you’re passionate about and gain skills that will help you go further in your professional field. At Bristol, our students become part of a lifelong global community made up of a network of alumni and our world-leading experts and academics.

Our University is at the heart of Bristol; a historic, lively and green city in the south-west of England. Bristol is less than two hours from the UK’s bustling capital, London, while also being close enough to beautiful counties such as Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall, allowing you to explore the outdoors. The city’s independent spirit, lively arts and music scene, sustainable ethos and thriving modern economy makes it the perfect place for postgraduate study. Explore our beautiful city with our 360 virtual tour.
We continually invest in facilities and technology for our students. Our state-of-the-art buildings include the new £56.5 million Life Sciences building and the pioneering Centre for Nanoscience and Quantum Information. As part of our ambitious strategy, we are investing £300 million in a new campus with a focus on digital technologies.
The University of Bristol is eligible for the UK government’s Postgraduate Loans Scheme for master's programmes.
