Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (Ross Vet) aims to provide a bespoke graduate experience, preparing students to become leaders of the worldwide public and professional healthcare community. Our One Health online programs offer students the opportunity to become One Health experts and partake in the development of a worldwide network of One Health leaders, equipped to recognize the critical interplay of human, animal and environment health. The Graduate Certificate in One Health (13 credits) and the Master of Science by Coursework in One Health (45 credits), enrolling in September 2024, are taught online and designed to ensure that students obtain skills in key One Health disciplines while enabling a focus on areas most relevant to the participant’s interests including zoonoses, conservation medicine, food safety, animal health program management, vector-borne diseases, and agriculture.

About Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine

Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (“Ross Vet”), founded in 1982, is a university offering the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA COE). The main campus is located on the tranquil Island of St Kitts, in the Caribbean. With its administrative headquarters based in Chicago, Illinois.

In 2014, Ross Vet began offering Master of Science and PhD by Research degree programs. The postgraduate mission is to be a leader in training One Health experts and develop a worldwide network of One Health leaders that will work together for the future using an on-line delivery format.

By earning a One Health Graduate Certificate or One Health Master’s degree, you are one step closer to bridging the gap between fields and learning how the interconnectedness of our planet informs animal and human health, joining a community of trained experts from diverse backgrounds using One Health as a central approach to resolving health, food security/safety, economic growth and poverty issues worldwide.

The Graduate Community at Ross Vet is made up of a diverse student body, comprising of both online and residential students. Currently, students can enroll in one of the following Graduate programs.

  • Graduate Certificate in One Health (online)
  • Master of Science (MSc) by Coursework in One Health (online)
  • Master of Science (MSc) by Research
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by Research

Ross Vet thrives on its diverse network and community, with students located on campus and studying remotely. Ross Vet is committed to providing an inclusive environment that prepares students to become leaders in worldwide professional and public healthcare settings, supported by a research-informed educational experience. Students have access to an array of online and in-house resources and facilities during their period of study with Ross Vet as well as the support of leading, dedicated and passionate faculty who are committed in helping mentor the next generation of One Health advocates. Students will be introduced to academic and professional support staff in their first few weeks of study and given clear timelines in relation to requirements for posting graded discussions and assignments, coursework submission, capstone research project milestones (if applicable) and key contacts bespoke to their mode and area of study.



A professional veterinary or medical qualification, or a bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in the biological, biomedical, environmental, or ecological sciences.

Yes, the coursework for the One Health programs is 100% online with classes opening each week for students to review course material. Students have the option of a 1-week residency on Ross Vet’s St. Kitts campus.

The Graduate Certificate and MSc in One Health can be studied part-time for up to 3 years.
