Masters degrees in Hydrography train postgraduates in the collection, creation and dissemination of data about the sea and seabed, coastal areas, lakes and rivers. Research also includes techniques in surveying and the study of tides and currents. Taught MSc degrees are typical for the field, though research-based MRes and MPhil programmes may also be available at some institutions. Entry requirements normally include an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject such as Geography or Geology.
