I initially chose this degree because I was living in America at the time. The fact that I was able to study this remotely was a huge bonus to me, and I really wanted to understand more about the industry that I had found myself working in via a pretty unusual route. I was working for a human rights international organisation, but I didn't really have the same foundational knowledge as everybody else.

I would definitely recommend this for anyone who was working full time or trying to balance advanced studies with other responsibilities. The flexibility of the course just meant that it was perfect for me throughout every stage of doing the degree.

I moved continents, I moved jobs, I moved house, and I was able to fit studying in within all of that, which I don't think other universities really offer in the same way. It's kind of surreal to graduate, to be honest. I had a big break between my undergraduate degree and this degree, and so I didn't think I'd ever go to another graduation ceremony. It does show that you can do it whenever, and so that's a really great thing to reflect on today."

I studied this particular programme at the University of London because it complements my law degree and enriches my career. My favourite thing about the programme is that it's very flexible, so I had the option to study at my own pace. Now that I've graduated, my plans are to focus on the development of my career. I would advise people considering a University of London degree to go for it and not even think about time – time passes anyway, so if you start your degree, in no time you'll be done with it. I would recommend the University of London because it's a very prestigious university and you can be recognised abroad anywhere, for the highest quality of education that you receive here. My advice to prospective students is that you just need to do it. I know it might be challenging, especially if you already have a family, you're raising a family, you're struggling and you're working full-time. The online library was, an impeccable source for all the tasks that we had, but we also had a lot of recommendations directly from the teachers about where to look for books and resources, articles, etcetera. But the online library and the virtual learning platform were an invaluable source of knowledge.

I would recommend this programme for its credibility and for the knowledge that we gained throughout. I feel proud of myself. I feel that I've accomplished a big step in my life, and I'm glad that I have an achievement to present to my children, to show them that personal development should never end, and it should continue throughout one's career and throughout their life – not end with a degree that you earn in your early twenties.

The best advice that I could give is if you plan to elevate your career, start today. Don't wait for a perfect time, for the perfect setting, for the perfect moment. It's best to start immediately and to unfold all the opportunities that lie ahead of you.

I would recommend the University of London to anybody. The flexibility is incredible – I was able to complete the master's within the minimum amount of time while working full time. The modules are also very practical, so you gain real-world skills. And then of course there's the long-standing academic reputation.

It's helped me build a very strong foundation in core computer science concepts, and also key areas of software engineering.
