"Studying this course equipped me with the skills I needed to transition into a technical role. This has allowed me to shape my career in a way that lets me leverage those skills in the industry and make a significant contribution."

“I feel like my MSc puts me in a privileged position. It’s my responsibility to pass on my knowledge and hold the hand of younger engineers. Together, we can build Uganda’s expertise now, and for the future”.

Throughout my career, I always thought it was interesting that nobody ever taught me how to teach. This course has helped me to develop different approaches to teaching and learning so I can engage with all students.

This course is great, not only because it is taught online but also provides a strong stepping stone for my career. In addition, it allows me to work around my current work schedule whilst studying on an excellent RICS accredited degree.

"Coming to the UK for a year or two wasn't an option for me, so it really was perfect to have an international education in a blended program."

The course has not only enhanced my knowledge in this area of medicine but has also pushed me to reflect on my own practice and improve the care I give to my patients.

I have been particularly grateful for and impressed by the support and understanding I have received from the University, department, and individual faculty members, including my excellent dissertation supervisor. Not only have they guided my studies and helped me gain the skills to demonstrate my knowledge and articulate my arguments, but they have also taken the time to understand me as a person and appreciate how life’s pressures can sometimes get in the way of studying and essay deadlines. They have consistently provided me with the support and time I needed to complete my work to a standard I am proud of.

"I wanted to understand technologies that I hadn't been exposed to in my career so far. And I also wanted to gain the tools to train others to use new technologies."

"One of the most valuable aspects of this programme is the assessment. Unlike my previous experience with smaller datasets, this course challenges us to work with large-scale data. The opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world data under the guidance of faculty is what truly sets this course apart."

"I would recommend this course to all legal professionals. We are in the midst of a technological revolution, and it is imperative that we are prepared for dealing with the legal challenges as well as opportunities that lie ahead."

"The course tackles real world issues framed in relevant and applicable national and international case studies. The skills gained in modelling applied to pollutant mobility, flood hydrology and atmospheric systems will all become invaluable in the future."

“I have thoroughly enjoyed this course. The content is interesting and written in a clear and concise manner. Being an online course, I can pick it up whenever convenient and having a short quiz at the end of each section is brilliant to test my recall. Having no essays to write made this course possible for me as I generally have a very busy schedule already!”

Our online courses are designed with the same academic rigor as an on campus postgraduate qualification. To successfully complete the qualification you will be assessed throughout your course. The way you are assessed can vary between courses and can take a formative or summative form. Formative assessments are not graded but still need to be completed so that academics can provide feedback. These assessments will also support you with your summative assessments which form the grades for your course. Formative assessments can include reflective posts, journals, quizzes and reports. There are an average of 2-3 summative assessments per course unit and these can include coursework, presentations, essays and exams.
