School of Economics

University of Rome Tor Vergata

University of Rome Tor Vergata was established in 1982 and is therefore a relatively young University. It was designed on the model of Anglo-Saxon campuses: it stretches on 600 hectares and hosts important research institutions, such as National Research Council – CNR and the Italian Space Agency – ASI. Tor Vergata's six Schools (Economics, Engineering, Humanities and Philosophy, Law, Medicine and Surgery, and Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences) are located in a vast campus. Each School is provided with its own library, teaching and research facilities, reading rooms, laboratories, canteens and green areas where students can experience a real campus life. The mission of the University of Rome Tor Vergata is to contribute to people's education and training, to scientific research and to the technological, organisational and social innovation needed to achieve a truly sustainable development in Italy, Europe and worldwide pursuant to the Sustainable Development Goals approved by the United Nations in September 2015.

To pursue its objectives, the DEF encourages the production of scientific research of an international level, recruits teachers and researchers with an international profile, enhances the public engagement activities conducted by its members. The DEF was selected by the Ministry of University and Research among the Excellence Departments in both the 5-year period 2018-2022 and the 5-year period 2023-2027. Thanks to these recognitions, the DEF has benefited from two grants aimed at improving research, teaching, and third mission activities.

Campus life at Tor Vergata University Rome is extremely exciting and stimulating. Tor Vergata takes care of its students and staff by offering a wide selection of events, services, sport activities, and special offers.

Master MESCI is not only an academic experience that helps to acquire skills that are useful and valued in the job market, but is above all an educational and human experience in which one is enriched by the exchange of life experiences, ideas, point of view and knowledge gained from meeting with other students and professors from different paths of life and study. This is the real added value of the master’s program.

Great dedication and up-to-date insights from professors working in the fields of international cooperation, gender, education, sustainability, governance, poverty alleviation, etc. A wonderful variety and flow of topics! And it's not hard to get there from the center of Rome!

The MESCI programme is a more challenging continuation of Mundus Urbano program, but it is certainly a strong complement to my technical knowledge in architecture.

The tuition fee for the program is €7,000.

For the on-campus track, classes run from November 23 to May 31. The overall program is completed by December 31

Students can choose between two formats: a traditional on-campus track or an executive track with recorded lectures.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent foreign qualification of at least four academic years.

MESCI is a postgraduate, one-year international Master’s program in Development Economics and International Cooperation.
