The NL Scholarship is the new national scholarship programme for international students outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their Bachelor's or Master's in Holland. The EEA consists of the EU countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

- Your nationality is non-EEA
- You are an excellent student according to the faculty's standard
- You are applying for a full-time bachelor’s or master’s at Erasmus University Rotterdam
- You didn't obtain a diploma at an education institution in the Netherlands
- You can only apply for this scholarship once
- You meet the specific requirements set by the faculty that offers the programme that you have applied for (go to the faculty's website for more information)

Application Procedure

Applications for the 2024/2025 academic year are now open and close on 1 May 2024.

Step 1:
Read through the NL Scholarship website to familiarize yourself with the scholarship conditions

Step 2:
Submit your application by completing the NL Scholarship Online Application Form. Prepare your application now with the following documents:
- Unconditional Admission letter
- Motivation letter (including intended career path)
- Proof of excellence during Bachelor's (Certified copy of Bachelor's Degree including grade list)
- If you have not completed your Bachelor yet, the average grade of the current year until the date of application applies.
- Description of financial position, including a bank statement (that shows an amount sufficient for the living costs during your studies of 12 x €1000) and an indication of the maximum amount that can be contributed by the prospective student and/or external sponsors

Step 3:
Receive the awards committee's decision by May 2024.

The Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), a public service unit under the ministry of finance that manages the national education development fund, and Erasmus University Rotterdam have agreed to enter into a collaborative agreement. One of the objectives of this agreement is that LPDP will act as a sponsor and aims to send suitably qualified citizen of Indonesia - who are in receipt of Indonesia Education Scholarship - to undertake Master’s or PhD program at Erasmus University Rotterdam, as determined by the President director of LPDP.

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is open to professionals with relevant experience applying for a master’s degree within the development field. The JJ/WBGSP will cover many of the costs of studying abroad. In return, recipients commit to returning to their home country to contribute to its economic and social development. The scholarship will cover tuition fees, air tickets and health insurance. JJ/WBGSP scholars will also receive a monthly contribution to living expenses and a travel allowance.

Eligibility

The JJ/WBGSP opens a call period each year, during which applicants can apply for the scholarship.
- Be national of a World Bank member developing country
- Not hold dual citizenship with a developed country;
- Be of sound health;
- Hold a bachelor’s degree, which was obtained at least 3 years prior to the application deadline;
- Have 3 or more years of work experience in a development-related field, which was completed after receiving the bachelor’s degree;
- Have an unconditional offer for at least one of the JJ/WBGSP preferred or partner master’s degree programs.

Application Procedure

To apply for a JJ/WBGSP preferred program scholarship, you will need to hold an unconditional offer for a master’s program at one of the JJ/WBGSP preferred or partner programs. IHS' Master of Science in Urban Management and Development is stated on the JJ/WBGSP list of preferred programs. The admitted students will receive further instructions via email from our Admissions Office.

The Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme, as one of Türkiye’s longest and most prestigious projects, was carried out with an agreement between the Republic of Türkiye and the European Commission in 1989. Within the scope of the programme, selected scholars are granted the right to do research or postgraduate studies in a university or equivalent institution in an EU member country for a period of at least 3 to 12 months. Jean Monnet scholarships are allocated to studies on EU-related issues within the framework of Türkiye’s EU harmonization process.

Application Procedure

Application Process
- Announcement of the JMSP is made once a year.
- Applications are to be submitted via hand delivery or post/courier to the Central Finance and Contracts Unit till the deadline specified in the announcement.

Selection Process
- Applicants who submit valid and compliant application documents are entitled to take the written exam.
The list of award holders is determined according to their written exam scores and sectoral quotas in terms of success ranking.
