About the Brussels School of Governance

The Brussels School of Governance (BSoG) is recognised by the European Commission as a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence. Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence are hubs for European Union studies funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme.

Our programmes are grounded in the expertise of four research centres that shape our teaching with cutting edge knowledge. Students benefit from insights on digital transformation, sustainability transitions, migration and diversity, as well as contemporary security and diplomacy. This research-driven foundation ensures that learning is directly informed by the latest developments and real-world challenges.

The in-house expertise of the BSoG is further strengthened by a close collaboration with an international network of partners, such as the United Nations University (UNU-CRIS), NOVA University of Lisbon, University of Warwick and the EUtopia European university network.

At the BSoG, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Our students are part of a multicultural, inclusive, and engaged community, with opportunities to take part in a wide range of extracurricular activities.

Student clubs are dynamic and evolve each year to reflect the diverse interests of our student body. Among the most popular are the Model United Nations (MUN) and Model European Union (MEU) events and Debate Clubs, which thrive in a school closely connected to European institutions and the United Nations. From simulating global debates in Madrid or Paris to representing EU delegations in New York or Brussels, students immerse themselves in international diplomacy and policymaking. These experiences go beyond simulation, offering opportunities to develop leadership, strengthen negotiation skills, and build lasting friendships with peers from across the globe.

Students looking to represent their peers can join the Student Government, which connects the student body, faculty, and administration while safeguarding students’ academic interests and rights.

In addition, students can actively engage with prospective applicants by becoming BSoG ambassadors during Open Days, campus visits, and education fairs. Everyone is welcome to get involved, contribute to student life, and leave their mark on the BSoG community.
