Providing Initial Teacher Education for over 75 years, we are recognised as one of the largest centres in the UK. Home to the Cardiff Partnership for Initial Teacher Education, we provide Primary and Secondary PGCEs accredited by the Education Workforce Council. These are designed in collaboration with external partners to ensure that student teachers not only achieve but seek to surpass the professional standards for Qualified Teacher Status. We do this though the delivery of high quality, accredited programmes that are practical and intellectually challenging.
Our wider postgraduate education courses meet the requirements of the sector in primary, secondary and post compulsory education, providing you with continued professional development opportunities in leadership, curriculum, additional learning needs, TESOL, psychology in education and more.
We also provide a multi-disciplinary approach in social policy, youth and community work, criminology and criminal justice, and our journalism, English and creative writing master’s courses are also recognised nationally and internationally.
