Our Online Master of Business Administration (MBA) course will help you to develop your career as a business manager.

The course has three specific pathways. The generic pathway allows you to learn every aspect of modern business administration, with transferable skills you can take to any given sector.

-MBA

-MBA (Healthcare Management)

-MBA (Environmental Management and Sustainability)

If you are looking to further your career in areas of Healthcare Management or Environmental and Sustainability Management, then our two specialist pathways will allow you to do this. You'll be given valuable insight and specific skills into these two huge sectors of global business.

What's covered in the course?

Our course provides the opportunity to combine the theory and practice of management, healthcare management, and environmental sustainability in an interactive online environment where you will be studying with other students from internationally diverse background and also have the support and guidance of specialists in the various fields of study.

The programmes of study will provide you with the skills employers really value, so it is the perfect option if you want to change career directions or aim to move up the corporate ladder. You’ll be encouraged to question, analyse and challenge the assumptions that are made about modern organisations and provide innovative solutions to the problems that are encountered in the rapidly changing world of business. We’ll nurture your skills by helping you devise contemporary and forward-thinking strategies and day-to-day tactics that’ll help organisations thrive in a range of business settings.

The Online Master of Business Administration and the two specialist pathways will run on a part-time and full-time basis. There will be initially three entry points per calendar year, so we have flexibility in terms of delivery and also starting point.

Why Choose Us?

-The University is embarking upon an exciting new phase of our portfolio development with a range of innovative online programmes that enable students to gain internationally recognised qualifications without the added expense or disruption of international on campus study – you can in essence ‘earn and learn’.

-We have a strong ‘practice based’ focus to our academic portfolio and this will allow you to apply the theory to real world situations and bring your experiences to the class as live discussion topics.

-The University is an active research centre, and the latest Research Excellence Framework 2014 report found we have doubled the amount of staff producing internationally recognised research.

-Our graduates move on to successful careers where they apply their knowledge to full effect.

-You’ll work alongside students from around the globe, creating a diverse, exciting atmosphere and a range of ideas.

Course structure

Our programme and the pathways are designed to allow you to study from your home location is perfectly balanced to blend business and management with finance, meaning you learn important skills from both disciplines. The dissertation will also ensure you develop your attributes in research, organisation and time management, three skills that look desirable to every employer.

We allow graduates from diverse disciplines, or those seeking continuing professional development, to gain access to the study of business within a number of specialist areas.

Our programme has a very flexible approach and you can study up to three modules at any one time on a full-time basis or you can study a module at a time at your own pace within the specified registration period.

Assessment is of a practical nature and will be examination based. There are many opportunities to assess your progress throughout the modules and there is a facility for a practice examination that provides feedback on your performance.

Employability

Unlike undergraduate degrees, which are designed to get students into industry, our MBA degrees are aimed at existing industry professionals looking to climb further up the career ladder.

Companies around the world are now looking for a different kind of manager. They need people with different skillsets that can look at situations and opportunities in unique ways. Our MBA degrees will give you the tools to stand out from the rest.

Upon completion, you will be able to effect positive change, both in your own professional practice, and within your organisation. On a personal level, you’ll be able to utilise new skills and methods to improve your efficiency, your critical engagement, and your ability to instigate change.

Successful improvements in your personal professional practice will then benefit your organisation. The MBA degree alone can open doors, but the possibilities opened to you by utilising your skills to improve your organisation are even more impressive.

Already a managing director, in charge of your own company? The MBA degree can still benefit you internally and externally. The knowledge and skills you will pick up over the course of your degree can allow you to become an industry leader, growing your company’s reputation through innovation. The accompanying benefits of this could help cement your company’s industry position for years to come.

Throughout the Master of Athletic Training program, supervised practice courses provide direct patient care opportunities for a variety of injuries and patient populations including contact (high risk) and non-contact sports, male and female patients, upper extremity and lower extremity injuries, sport and non-sport settings, and general medical conditions.

  • Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center, a local sports medicine clinic;
  • American Airlines maintenance facility, an industrial setting,
  • General medical, through rotations with sports medicine fellows and through the on-site health clinic; and
  • Other special events as available.

In all clinical rotations, students are supervised by BOC certified and Oklahoma licensed athletic trainers. Most students work one on one with their preceptor in the clinical setting.

Teaching and learning

• Inside the Modern Organisation
• Creating Transformative Competitive Advantage
•Leading Change, Performance and Effectiveness
• Applied Consultancy

Each of these four themes is informed by six strands of subject specialist knowledge: Economics, Accounting and Finance, Human Resource Management, Operations and Project Management, Marketing and Leadership and Strategic Management. The delivery of the modules is sequential so that you're able to apply the latest managerial theories to a real life situation in a holistic approach from the outset.

Although the acquisition of knowledge and understanding will be delivered through a variety of strategies, the use of real life case studies is central to our teaching and learning strategy.

Strategy for teaching and learning

Real life case study:
At the start of the course each participant chooses a case study (or case studies if one does not cover all scenarios) based on their disciplinary background and/ or the chosen MBA flavour. The teaching methods are integrated throughout the four core modules and demonstrated in examples and applied to the case study. For example, under the first module-Inside the Modern Organisation – the case study is used so that the participant can address the key issues across the various disciplinary streams.

Master classes:
A series of master classes delivered by external experts in the various specialist fields will be delivered throughout the academic year enabling our students to engage with contemporary management issues.

Residential weekends:
Two residential events will support students learning

Lectures, seminars and workshops:
Each of the four core modules will be delivered by a team of academics from each of the subject discipline stream. Interactive seminars and workshops will support the lectures and have a strong focus on small group activities to encourage the active participation of students throughout the academic year, developing peer learning, the sharing of knowledge and support amongst the diverse student body.

Self-managed learning:
Self-managed learning activities to supplement and consolidate classroom based activity include: reading texts and relevant journals, application of knowledge to additional problem based exercises, engaging in coursework, group discussion, review of key topics and examination preparation where appropriate. Many of these activities are supported by the virtual learning environment (VLE).

In recent years, the law relating to medicine and healthcare has become increasingly complex. This has significant consequences for medical practices and questions of legal liability and compensation. This programme aims to provide a sound knowledge of the legal rules applicable to the practice and administration of healthcare.

Overview

In recent years, the law relating to medicine and healthcare has become increasingly complex and patients are becoming more aware of their legal rights. This has significant consequences for medical practices and questions of legal liability and compensation. Changes in the structure of the NHS are also giving rise to a number of important legal problems.

Our LLM Legal Aspects of Medical Practice was established in 1987 and aims to provide a sound knowledge of the legal rules applicable to, and the issues surrounding, the practice and administration of healthcare, as further changes make a deeper understanding of the field ever more significant.

This part-time, distance-learning course provides the opportunity to study topics in-depth and conduct research in areas of medical law of particular interest to you. The programme:

  • Covers a wide spectrum of healthcare law topics.
  • Stimulates a critical approach to evaluation of current and proposed regulation and cultivates independent and original thought.
  • Enables you to undertake in-depth research and demonstrate advanced knowledge in specific areas of law.

Distinctive features

This course attracts a diverse student body from members of the medical and legal professions and is suitable for graduates in law, medicine, nursing, dentistry, psychiatry, pharmacology and associated healthcare and health management professionals.

CME points will be awarded to doctors where appropriate.
