Canada is home to some of the world’s top universities for studying Engineering, combining a strong academic reputation, practical learning experiences, and excellent connections to industry. With leading institutions like the University of Toronto, University of British Columbia (UBC), University of Waterloo, and McGill University consistently ranked among the best globally, Canada is an ideal destination to pursue a Masters in Engineering.
When I explored Masters degrees in Engineering across Canada, a few key aspects really caught my attention: the rigour and industry relevance of programmes, hands-on opportunities like co-op placements, internships, design teams and capstone projects, strong links with sectors such as AI, aerospace, clean energy, infrastructure and advanced manufacturing, CEAB accreditation pathways toward P.Eng. licensure, and comprehensive support for both domestic and international students. In this guide, we’ll take a closer look at the top 10 Engineering universities in Canada and help you understand how each ranking works.
