Postgraduate Student Finance Masters Applications Are Now Open!

Are you applying for a postgraduate Masters course in 2022 to 2023? You can now apply for your student finance.

We’ve teamed up with Student Finance England (SFE), Student Finance Northern Ireland (SFNI) and Student Finance Wales (SFW) to give you some tips on applying. Here’s everything you need to know:

#1 Apply online as early as possible

It’s quick and easy to apply online – it should only take you around 30 minutes. Make sure you apply as soon as possible so your funding is ready for the start of your course. It can take up to 6 weeks to process your student finance application, so if your application is late, then your money might be too.

If you’ve had funding from SFE, SFNI or SFW before, you can use your existing online account to apply. Otherwise, you’ll need to create an account. Don’t worry if you’ve not got a confirmed place at uni or college yet, you can apply using the details for your preferred course and change them later if you need to!

Remember, if you’re a continuing SFE or SFW student you do not need to re-apply for funding. You should expect an entitlement letter for the new academic year around 6 weeks before the start of the new term. Sign in to your online account to make sure all of your contact details are up to date.

#2 Find out what funding is available

You could get help with your course fees and living costs while you study a postgraduate Master’s course. The funding differs depending on where you live.

You could get:

  • A loan of up to £11,836 to help with your course fees and living costs from SFE
  • A tuition fee loan of up to £5,500 from SFNI
  • A combined loan and grant of up to £18,430 to help with your course fees and living costs from SFW

There’s extra help available for students with a disability, head over to Student Finance England, Student Finance Northern Ireland or Student Finance Wales to find out more!
