Scholarship details

Our comprehensive package of scholarships celebrates and rewards exceptional candidates applying to our September 2026 Online MBA programme.

To be considered for an Online MBA Scholarship, you must hold an unconditional offer by one of the following deadlines:

- Round One – hold an unconditional offer by 6 February 2026
- Round Two – hold an unconditional offer by 1 May 2026
- Round Three – hold an unconditional offer by 7 August 2026

Any outstanding documents must be submitted one week prior to the deadline.

No separate scholarship application is necessary.

Executive Dean's - £17,000 (50% tuition discount)

Executive Dean's - Women in Business - £17,000 (50% tuition discount)

Achievement - £10,000

Year of Entry: Applicants for programmes commencing in 2026

Number of awards available: Up to 35 awards available

Mode of study: Online Part-Time

Programmes: The Durham MBA (Online)

Duration: Scholarship (tuition fee discount) will be applied over the two taught years of the programme.

Based on the eligibility criteria below, these scholarships will be awarded to unconditional offer holders who:

- Demonstrate outstanding professional excellence, including substantial postgraduate work experience in roles reflecting a high level of managerial responsibility.

- Demonstrate an outstanding academic record from a recognised and reputable institution.

- Demonstrate the potential to contribute meaningfully to all aspects of the MBA programme, enriching its academic and cultural profile.

- Have the potential to become an exemplary alumni ambassador, contributing positively to the School, to professional organisations, and to wider communities.

To be considered for one of Durham University Business School's Online MBA Scholarships (tuition fee discounts) applicants must:

- Hold a formal unconditional offer for the programme by one of the deadlines outlined above.

- Be completely self-funding in order to be eligible for this tuition fee discount. Where fees are part or fully paid by an employer, private provider or government body, applicants will not be considered for a scholarship. Failure to disclose external funding will invalidate any scholarship offered.

- Be available to take up their programme place in the 2026 academic year.

To note:

- Only successful candidates will be notified of scholarship (tuition fee discount) decisions.
- The award will be applied as a discount against the full tuition fee for the programme over the two years.
- Scholarships (tuition fee discounts) are not transferable and not deferrable.
- There is no cash alternative to be offered if a place on the programme is not taken up.
- Unsuccessful applicants in earlier rounds will be automatically considered for any applicable awards in future rounds.
- The Executive Dean's - Women in Business awards are open to female or female-identifying applicants.

Upon accepting a Durham University Business School Scholarship, applicants agree to the following conditions:

- Accept their programme offer.
- Agree to participate in and contribute to the School’s marketing and outreach activities. These may include open events, online webinars, or serving as a class representative.
