Scholarship details

The Bath Merit Scholarship is worth £5,000 and is available for overseas fee-paying students permanently domiciled in selected countries who have an outstanding academic record. This award aims to reward students who can demonstrate a background of achievement and success.

The awards are available for full-time taught master's courses* in the Faculties of Engineering and Design, Humanities and Social Sciences and Science and can only be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.

To be eligible for the award, you must:

hold an offer from the University of Bath for a full-time, campus-based postgraduate taught master's course starting in 2026*
be permanently domiciled in one of the countries listed below and be a graduate or studying your degree at a university in the same country. You must have studied the whole of your degree in the country:

have a final degree or current grade/GPA equivalent to a UK high 2:2 degree
have not previously studied at the University of Bath

No additional scholarship application is required. If you meet the eligibility and award criteria, the scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee discount.

Recipients of the Bath Merit Scholarship can apply for other University of Bath scholarships available for 2026/27 entry but if they are awarded a Bath Global Excellence Scholarship, GREAT Scholarship or other type of University funding, they will no longer be eligible to receive the Bath Merit Scholarship.

You will automatically be considered for the award and do not need to submit an additional application. Please check eligibility.
