Ornua is an Irish dairy co-operative that markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its members, Ireland's dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. Ornua is Ireland's largest exporter of Irish dairy products, exporting to 110 countries world-wide. Headquartered in Dublin, it has annualised sales of over €3.4 billion and has a strong global team of 3,000 employees. Ornua operates from 9 business units worldwide, including 16 production facilities, and has sales and marketing teams working in market across all four corners of the globe. Ornua's core purpose is to build profitable routes to market for Irish dairy products.
The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients.
Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua's consumer brands including Ireland's most successful food export: Kerrygold, as well as Kerrygold Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Forto and BEO milk powders. Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, and the US.
Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world, and for managing volatility through derisking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.
Ornua understands how critical the role of education is in continuing to grow our agri-food sector in Ireland. The practical emphasis of the course equips participants with the skills required to make innovative contributions to the development of both local and global economies.
To be considered for a competitive Scholarship, the following criteria must first be met:Students must secure a minimum Second Class Honours Grade 2 in an approved primary degree or equivalent.
Students must have applied for the MSc Sustainable Development, Agri-Food and Co-operatives via the UCC Applications System, have received an offer and have accepted a place on the programme.

Applications must include a short personal statement in response to the following (max 500 words):
What impact would achieving this scholarship have for you?
Your reason for applying and academic background.
Your previous achievements (academic or other notable achievements).
Your future career ambitions.
Selection
A shortlist of students will be chosen and an interview will take place to discuss your application. The judging panel will include the co directors of the programme and representatives from Ornua.
Applicants must name at least two referees – one academic and one professional.
Please note if a scholarship holder withdraws from the programme for which s/he has registered or fails to continue throughout the year to meet the attendance and other requirements for the programme, including examination entry, s/he may be required to repay to the College the whole or part of the scholarship.
