Scholarship details
The UCD School of Archaeology is delighted to offer up to two UCD School of Archaeology Graduate Tuition Fee Scholarships for 2025/2026 academic year. All full-time EU and non-EU students who have applied for one of our one-year, campus-based Masters programmes are eligible to apply. Applicants should be in receipt of a full or conditional offer at the time of their scholarship application.
It is intended that up to two scholarships, worth €5,000 each, will be awarded for the 2025/2026 academic year. It should be emphasised that the School of Archaeology Graduate Scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with another UCD Fee Scholarship. It is the responsibility of the applicant to advise the School if they are in receipt of other UCD tuition funding and which scholarship they intend to keep.

Selection Criteria:
Academic Excellence (50%) - a First Class honours (1H) degree, GPA of 3.68 or higher; or upper Second Class honours (2H1) degree, GPA of 3.08-3.67.
Personal statement 500 words (50%) - detailing your professional, academic and/or relevant extra-curricular or voluntary experience; explaining why you wish to study for a postgraduate archaeology degree at UCD; and highlighting how you feel the scholarship would impact your ability to do so and your career development.
A School of Archaeology Graduate Scholarship cannot be deferred and must be taken up in the academic year that it is awarded for. Students who are awarded a School of Archaeology Graduate Scholarship and do not complete the programme will be required to return the full amount of the scholarship to the UCD School of Archaeology.
