UCD Foundation for Italian Studies Scholarship

Awarded to a student of proven academic excellence to pursue postgraduate studies at MA/ MLitt or PhD level in the School of Languages Cultures and Linguistics with a specialisation in Italian.

The Scholarship will be payable to a student who has been accepted for an MA / MLitt or PhD degree programme on a full-time or part-time basis in the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics, having met all its admissions requirements. Students from EU and non-EU countries are equally eligible. Applicants must be registered for an MA degree programme in Modern Languages or in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, with specialization in Italian Studies, or to an MLitt or PhD degree programme in the field of Italian Studies. In addition to meeting all other requirements for postgraduate admission, they must have obtained a grade of at least Second Class Honours, Grade 1, or equivalent, in their primary degree (NFQ Level 8).

Applicants should submit both a hard copy and an electronic copy of the following:

a) curriculum vitae

b) academic transcripts

c) an indication of the research area in which they might be interested for a minor MA thesis or, in the case of an MLitt or a PhD, a description of their research project (no longer than 1,000 words)

d) the names of two academic referees (referees should send their references by e-mail to the Director of the Foundation italianfoundation@ucd.ie
