Scholarship details
The Helga and Hugh Staunton Scholarship was launched in 2004. The scholarship covers either local MA fees (currently €9,330) for one year, or local PhD fees for four years (currently €7,130 per year). It is awarded to a registered postgraduate student of proven academic excellence who wishes to pursue postgraduate studies in German at UCD. Applications for a year-long Postdoctoral Fellowship in German will also be considered for an award of €7,130, with a minimum of three months spent on campus.

Applicants for MA and PhD funding must be resident in Ireland and registered for a postgraduate programme in German at UCD (taught MA in German, Master by research, PhD), at the time of taking up the scholarship.

a. curriculum vitae,
b. academic transcripts,
c. a description of their research project
d. supporting reference(s) (one for MA and two for PhD applications).
