The Ruby Lee Progression scholarship will be awarded to an international student with ambition and ability, allowing them to have a transformational experience at the University of Brighton. It will provide an international postgraduate scholarship for an applicant to the History of Design and Material Culture MA course.
The scholarship fully funds international tuition fees for this course.
The award is generously supported and funded by the Zepi Tepi Fund via the San Antonio Area Foundation.
To be considered for this award you must:
- have applied for a place on the History of Design and Material Culture MA
- be an international student.
You can only apply for the Ruby Lee Progression scholarship once you have applied for History of Design and Material Culture MA. You'll find an Apply Online link on the course page.
The Ruby Lee Progression scholarship application form will ask you to write three 200-word statements covering the following points.
- How will the scholarship transform your personal and professional development?
- What are your main interests in the study of the history of design and material culture?
- What do you plan to do after completing the course?
Applications will be evaluated by a panel made up of university faculty members. They will assess your application in relation to:
- communication skills
- demonstrated academic interest and achievement
- commitment to the field of design history and material culture.
The scholarship is intended to nurture ambition and ability; it is not made purely on the basis of academic excellence. Please note that you may reuse material from your application for a place on the MA.
The decision of the panel is discretionary and final.
