Group Meeting

User: Red9 - 08 May 2013 04:41

Hi, I would like to ask everyone how their lab group meeting is run. My group is in engineering, and we have weekly student run 1 hr-long meetings. It started as a way to help people in the group with their research problems, do tutorials about various technical topics, and update everyone about lab issues (equipment to buy, schedules, etc.). Now it is leaning more towards a journal club, where a person picks a paper they want and we discuss it as a group. We tend to leave the actual research updates to when our adviser holds the meeting, which is spontaneous. I just want to see what others are doing, and perhaps exchange some ideas and suggestions.

Its a great decision i think so. By a group meeting everyone can obtain some knowledge without can't.
I appreciate you. best of luck.
