MA in Islamic Studies

Hi there. I was wondering if anyone on this forum knows of an international university (with a good standing) that offers MA in Islamic Studies? I have heard that some universities in Malaysia offer such postgraduate degrees. I am particularly interested in courses that focus on Usul-Al-Fiqh (Islamic laws), ahadith and the Holy Quran in depth, but unfortunately in my country of residence (which is supposed to be an Islamic country) there are very limited options and out of the few courses that are available, they are taught in Arabic or do not cover the basics of Fiqh. Any recommendations (in or outside of Malaysia) would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Nabilausman,

Here is a good place to search for a course, most of these universities are in the UK:

Good luck!

Thanks a lot Reenie for sharing that link! I'll definitely go through it. Someone I know is studying at Islamic University of Medina and I have a very good feeling about that place because that's the city of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) and I can't think of a better place to study Islam :) The only thing that is a little tricky for me at the moment is the fact that I'll first have to study Arabic to qualify for the postgraduate studies in that university (just like TOEFL or IELTS for English universities). I am glad my Arabic isn't all that bad, Alhamdulillah.

InshaAllah I'll be going there soon to see how things work out for me. Once again, thanks for the reply!
