Potential interview questions

User: johnbusby - 12 March 2009 14:05

Hi I have a couple of interviews next week for Msc Statistics, I am quite confident of being offered a place but think the interview is going to be very important when they come to decide on funding. I was wondering if any one could give me some info on questions, I am obvisily going to prepare for the obvious questions

" Why this institution"
" Why this course"
" What skills to have that will help you suceed in this course"
" How will this course futher you career"

Would really appreciate it if anyone can give me an idea of other questions that may be asked as it would obvisily be better to be prepared!!

Thanks in advance

John:-)

Hi John

Check out this site which has a huge list of potential questions:

http://www2.le.ac.uk/offices/ssds/careers/resources/further-study/interviews/example-interview-questions

In addition, depending on if your first degree was related, you may also get asked questions to see you good you are at interpreting basic statistical concepts, for example, 'how would you define a p-value, 95% CI'? etc

Good luck!:-)
