About the course

Embark on a transformative journey in biomedical research with our MSc by Research in Biomedical Sciences (Life Sciences). 

This one-year, full-time research masters programme is uniquely designed to provide you with an intensive research experience, preparing you for a PhD or a career in academic or industrial research.

You will be immersed in our research environment from the onset, choosing two distinct research projects that align with your interests and career aspirations. This dual project approach allows you to either specialise deeply in one area or explore two different areas of biomedical sciences.

About Edinburgh Medical School

Edinburgh Medical School is one of six schools within the University of Edinburgh's College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, and is a leader in biomedical and medical education. We deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching to over 6,000 students, and conduct pedagogical research to continually improve our programmes. Our school is spread across multiple University campuses and NHS sites, including Edinburgh BioQuarter and the Western General Hospital campus, providing students with access to state-of-the-art facilities and expertise. In addition to our on-campus programmes, we also offer a range of online degree programmes, providing flexible and accessible learning opportunities for students around the world.
