About the course

The Construction Law LLM/PgDip/PgCert course is tailored for both construction professionals and lawyers, offering a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework within the construction industry. Participants will engage with legal processes from project commissioning to completion, enhancing their expertise in managing construction projects. The course is available in both in-person and online formats, featuring a blend of pre-recorded and live lectures, along with access to extensive electronic resources. Students can choose to study full-time over one year or part-time over two years, completing core modules such as The Law of the Construction Industry and Dispute Resolution. A unique aspect of the programme is the opportunity to apply to do an internship or professional project dissertation with a member of Strathclyde Law School’s Professional Practice Network. For example students have the opportunity to apply to work with international organisations, non-governmental organisations or national governments. Likewise, students can set up their own professional work-based dissertation option to enhance and develop advanced employability skills in an area relevant to their studies. The course encourages a blended learning experience, with evening classes designed to accommodate working professionals. Entry requirements include a first-class or second-class Honours degree in a related discipline, with alternative qualifications considered. Graduates will benefit from enhanced career prospects, networking opportunities, and the potential to meet CPD obligations, making this course an excellent choice for advancing in the construction law field.
