The Faculty of Arts & Humanities at King’s College London is home to a vibrant community of scholars, practitioners and postgraduate students working across disciplines that explore human culture, expression and society. Our nine departments include Classics, Comparative Literature, Culture, Media & Creative Industries, Digital Humanities, English Language & Literature, History, Liberal Arts, Music and Philosophy.
Across these fields, our mission is to produce research and teaching that illuminate the world we live in and challenge students to think critically, creatively and ethically. We are committed to interdisciplinary learning, enabling students to draw connections between subjects and address complex global questions from multiple perspectives.
The Faculty is deeply embedded in London’s cultural and intellectual life, collaborating with world-leading institutions such as the British Library, Shakespeare’s Globe, the National Gallery, the Courtauld Institute of Art and the Southbank Centre. Postgraduate students benefit from access to these partners through teaching, research, placements and events.
Our academics are internationally recognised for their contributions to the humanities, with research strength across areas such as literature and language, cultural and media studies, digital cultures, historical research, creative practice, music performance and applied philosophy. Through our master’s programmes, MPhils and PhDs, students develop advanced analytical, research and communication skills while engaging with leading scholarship and contemporary debates.
