About the course

This MSc is a well-established training course grounded in the key principles of psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy with a strong focus on the psychosocial dimension of therapeutic work and on the unconscious dynamics at work in organisational contexts.

It is suitable if you have completed a certificate in counselling skills, or equivalent, and have a substantial amount of experience in a helping profession or in an emotionally supportive role.

Entry Requirements

A second-class honours degree (2:2) or equivalent international qualification, however, professional qualifications and/or relevant work experience are taken into consideration.

You will need to have a minimum of six months' experience of regular, weekly or fortnightly work in a helping role. You should also have completed a counselling/psychotherapy course at Certificate of Higher Education level or equivalent.

You must attend once-weekly personal therapy with an approved therapist for at least six months before starting this course and remain in therapy for the duration of the course.
