London Postgraduate Study & MBA Fair, 31st January 2013
2013 competition winners: Philippa Anderson, Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University (left) & Catriona Toms, Centre for Alternative Technology (right)
This year’s Postgraduate Study and MBA Fair in London was a big success, attracting more than 90 exhibitors from both the UK and abroad.
The exhibition halls were really busy throughout the day as students to spoke to postgraduate course representatives about their postgraduate study plans. There was also a packed talks schedule on offer for them to find out about the specifics of postgraduate funding, studying abroad, how to choose the right course, and much more.
As always, the FindAMasters and FindAPhD Team were there all day handing out free popcorn, (and torturing everyone in the surrounding offices with the tantalising smell!), and delicious cake-on-a-stick, as well frustrating everyone with our exhibitor ‘spot-the-difference’ quiz.
It turns out everyone had seriously impressive ‘spot the difference’ skills, and many had spotted all 30 differences (we thought we’d made it hard, obviously no hard enough!) so we selected two winners at random to win the bottles of champagne. Congratulations to Philippa Anderson from Aberdeen Business School at Robert Gordon University, and Catriona Toms from the Centre for Alternative Technology. And as ever, a massive thank you to all of our exhibitors for taking part.
And last but not least, we’d like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to Clare McSheaffrey and her team from The Careers Group at the University of London for organising and delivering such a successful Fair. It really is a fantastic event for both exhibitors and students which we love attending and are extremely proud to sponsor. Thank you again.
We’re already looking forward to sponsoring and being part of the Fair again next year on Thursday 30 January 2014, put that date in your diaries and we’ll see you there!
Manchester Postgraduate Study Fair, 21st November 2012
2012 competition winners: Rachael Farley, Edge Hill University (left) & Ceris Crow, Nottingham Trent University (right)
We enjoyed yet another successful day at the annual Postgraduate Study Fair at Manchester Central on Wednesday 21 November. Wow, what a day! Despite the Manchester rain, the Fair was absolutely packed with just short of 2,000 students, all chatting to potential universities and getting careers and funding advice, whilst eating a cup of popcorn provided by us of course!
FindAMasters also added a little extra-sparkle to the day for all of the exhibitors with freshly baked cupcakes and our ‘name that honorary graduate’ picture quiz. It seems our exhibitors really do know their honorary graduates, and even which universities they got their honorary degrees from! Very impressive indeed.
Tough competition meant we had joint winners from two universities, so congratulations to both Rachael Farley from Edge Hill University, and Mandy Pine, Ceris Crow and colleagues from Nottingham Trent University. We hope you enjoy (have enjoyed?) your champagne!
As ever, a massive thank you to all of our exhibitors for taking part.
And last, but certainly not least, a great, big, huge ‘thank you’ to Jan Hewitt and her team from Manchester Careers Service for organising and delivering a professional, relaxed and enjoyable Fair. It really was a fantastic event for both exhibitors and students which we love attending, and which wouldn’t be possible without you. Thank you again.
We’re already looking forward to sponsoring and being part of the Fair again next year, and our thinking caps are on to come up with next year’s exhibitor activity…
London Postgraduate Study & MBA Fair, 25th January 2012
This year’s postgraduate fair in London was a big success, attracting nearly 90 exhibitors from the UK and further afield, including Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Finland and the USA.
The exhibition halls were bustling all day, as keen students took the opportunity to speak to university representatives about their postgraduate study plans.
"We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with FindAPhD.com and FindAMasters.com. As the sponsors of our fair for the second year running, their input had a great effect on both visitor numbers and exhibitor experience. The 2012 fair was once again a success on a par with the 2011 event, and we look forward to the event growing even more next year."
Clare McSheaffrey, Head of Events at The Careers Group, University of London
As always, the enthusiastic FindAMasters Team were there all day, handing out free popcorn, juggling balls and running our ever-popular competition for the exhibitors. This year the challenge was to build pipe-cleaner animals, and we were simply over-whelmed by the number of entries we received. The standard was pretty good too!

Of course, an event such as this wouldn't be possible without some great organisation behind the scenes. Our thanks go to Clare McSheaffrey, Head of Events at The Careers Group, University of London for another excellent fair.
Manchester Postgraduate Study Fair, 23rd November 2011
November 23rd saw another successful day at the annual Postgraduate Study Fair, Manchester Central. The 2011 event attracted over 2,200 UK and international students to meet with 90 universities from the UK and overseas. The event was bustling with future Postgraduates hoping to speak with potential universities and looking for career advice.
The day was a huge success for all involved:
"The usual high expectations I held in anticipation of the Manchester Postgraduate Fair were surpassed in both the number and quality of enquiries I received on the day. An effective and vigorous marketing campaign had obviously paid dividends for the organisers of this excellent fair. Students came from far and wide, with well researched questions and a deep desire for learning about the exciting opportunities available."
Ben Fowler, UK Postgraduate Recruitment Manager, Queen Mary, University of London
FindAMasters also added a little extra-sparkle to the day by providing some light entertainment, with fresh popcorn, juggling balls, and a friendly competition for the exhibitors. The Clay Model Making Competition was not compulsory, but there were a surprising amount of imaginative entries to win a bottle of champagne!
This year there were joint winners from two universities. The competition was high as many showed top skills in creativity and sportsmanship. But, the winning models were clear to see:

As ever, thank you for taking part!
Finally, a big "thank you" to Jan Hewitt and her team from Manchester Careers Service, for organising the event and creating a professional, comfortable and enjoyable environment for the exhibitors. Every angle was catered for. We look forward to sponsoring and being part of the event next year.
