Masters in Finland

With universities in the global top-100, and (currently) no fees for EU students on taught postgraduate programmes, Finland has lots of potential as a destination for postgraduate study abroad. In fact, there are already nearly 18,000 foreign students studying at Finnish universities.

As a Masters student in Finland you'll live in a striking northern-European country in which modern cities are surrounded by unspoilt wilderness. You'll have access to high-tech infrastructure (Finland is a world-leader in e-communications and other aspects of IT implementation) but also be able to witness unique natural phenomena such as the 'midnight sun' and go hiking across beautiful snowy tundra. Finland itself is a welcoming and friendly country that values equality and tolerance and believes strongly in the importance of higher education. It's also the home country of Santa Claus ' how many study abroad destinations can say that?

A Masters in Finland will normally take two years, with the Finnish academic year running from August or September to May or June. The language of instruction is usually Finnish, but a large number of Masters degrees in Finland are available in English. EU students will usually be entitled to study a Masters in Finland for free (and will not require a visa), but tuition fees may soon be introduced for other students.
