Masters in Belgium

As a country with two languages and the home of the European Parliament, it's no surprise that Belgium has a remarkably international outlook and is a popular study destination. Currently over 40,000 foreign students study at Belgian universities, many of them on postgraduate programmes.

As a Masters student in Belgium you'll be able to study at a wide range of institutions. Most of Belgium's universities are divided into Flemish (Dutch) and Walloon (French) streams, according to language, but you will be able to study a Masters degree at either type of institution. Whilst doing so you'll be able to explore beautiful university cities such as Brussels, Leuven and Bruges and sample some of Belgium's famous cuisine, including its huge variety of beers and chocolate products ' perfect ways to celebrate success on your Masters course!

A Masters in Belgium usually takes two years of full-time study and the Belgian academic year runs from September to July. Programmes will normally be taught in Dutch or French, depending on the location of your institution, but some courses may also be offered in English. EU and EEA students will be able to study in Belgium without a visa and will usually pay fees at the domestic rate.
