MSc Global Supply Chain Management


Course Description

Every product and service is supported by a global web of organisations and processes. In this context, companies increasingly look for graduates with an understanding of the multifaceted aspects of international supply chains.
The MSc in Global Supply Chain Management is designed to provide 360º perspective of global supply chains, help assess various potential supply chain risks and provide both strategic and analytical tools to mitigate these risks, based on the most recent academic research and innovative current business practices.

In addition, the course helps to develop cultural sensitivity, effective business communication, networking and time management skills.
The MSc in Global Supply Chain Management explores topics at all levels of decision making, including:

• Procurement
• Operations
• Logistics
• Corporate social responsibility (CSR)
• Finance, Accounting and Supply Chain Finance
• Supply Chain Analytics
• Consulting Skills for SCM

In term three, participants you will have the opportunity to either specialise further through a range of elective modules or develop their analytical skills through a research project.

Course detail

The course commences in September with a Foundations of Management workshop which prepares students with some of the concepts necessary to complete the course, and includes careers and professional skills development workshops.

Format

To satisfy the requirements of the degree course students must complete:

• twelve core courses (10 - 15 credits each)
and
• a Business Research Project (30 credits) and one elective (10 credits)
or
• four electives (10 credits each)

Assessment

Assessment of modules on the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management, in most cases, is by means of coursework and unseen examination. Coursework may consist of standard essays, individual and group presentations, group reports, classwork, unseen tests and problem sets. Please note that any group work may include an element of peer assessment.

The aim of the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management is to develop graduates with strong strategic supply chain knowledge and advanced analytical and consulting skills.

The Cass Supply Chain Management Society exists to create a strong community of future professionals in the Supply Chain Management field, or any other relative business fields, in an environment of cooperation, interaction and ideas sharing.

The society expands students' learning experience, by providing industry insights, through field trips to related organisations, as well as informative visits and presentations from practitioners, partly enabled by the society's close relationship with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (CILT).

Entry Requirements

A 2:1 Honours degree or the equivalent from an overseas institution; if University degree is not taught in English or if you have studied a 2+2 degree with just two years in the UK you will be required to provide IELTS results and possibly to resit the tests to meet our requirements. The required IELTS level is an average of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in writing.
